Tree removal?
Had a knock on the door, can you move the car says the bloke in lumberjack gear, why is that says me, we are here to cut the tree down, ladder against healthy tree chainsaw laying menacingly close.
Wrong tree says me, its that one I say pointing to a very unwell tree 5 metres away, one I had been told via letter was being removed, lumberjack walked away to come back about a minute later agreeing it was the wrong tree he was about to assault.
A few minutes later & there was a metre high stump in pavement & the lumberjacks were gone.
Next day I was another tree in the street with the same ailment as the one that had been decapitated, this one was complete, I have reported this to one of our councillors asked for an update. one street two possible errors, how many mistakes is that if you multiply it by the number of streets in the ward?
In order good tree/unwell tree stumpy/unwell tree intact
Councillors Forum September
The meeting went well, the landlord registration was explained, it does not cover Westborough yet & the £600 registration is for 5 years, it is not known how the landlords will levy the charge. Most likely fall on council tax payers, a majority of persons affected my be on benefits so it will not be the tenants who have to find the money, muggins like us.the tax payers. The idea in principle sounds good but its implementation could be the problem.
Councillors intend to continue these meeting for the foreseeable future.
There was a problem of public safety, the fire door was locked & the location of the key seemed to be unknown to the bar staff on duty, eventually the door was unlocked. This should have been done before members of the public were permitted entry. This may be a matter for the fire department, watch this space for their input.
RAW are still keeping their heads down, despite their poster saying September meeting to be announced nothing has been posted
Bank update,
Lloyds bank demonstrated the lack of awareness of procedure, an obvious training problem, they are not getting it, well the training to earn the 10/10 they award themselves.
The staff excuse, I don't know is not good enough, letters have been sent & if they are anything like RAW I will be expelled for having the temerity to expect them to do their job in a businesslike manner.
Watch this space, Lloyds have the requested paperwork, will I get the account for AWR? no breath holding please!
within a week the bank details arrived in the post, so AWR is ready to go, just insurance needed then watch out RAW
Councillors forum September 16th 2011 & eyesore
Not too well attended, possibly due to vandals taking down the posters, there are suspects but we can't name them. If you saw anyone at the notice board at the Church on corner of Electric or Southview please email dave@aowr.org.uk or call the police on 101, this is an assault on democracy.
Watch out for my newsletter for an in depth review want a copy, same address dave@aowr.org.uk put newsletter in subject. Or to get the last 3 newsletter go to www.aowr.org.uk/newsletter1 this will get you the first one, change the 1 to a 2 or 3 to get the rest.
RAW was resistant to newsletters, perhaps they did not want residents to know what was going on, we will never know, they seem to have faded into obscurity, their last poster said September meeting to be advised, well the third Friday is passed & no advice has been forwarded.
The building work is continuing at the corner of Westbourne Grove & Westborough Road, I will add more pics as work progresses
Westborough eyesore!
Looks like the eyesore on Westborough Road north west junction with Westbourne is having its makeover, scaffold is up & work started
I have spoken to the owner & he is going to email me with the full story which I will put in the AWR newsletter, I have also emailed Cllr. Terry for his slant on this
bank account for AWR
Sounds simple, contact bank get account yeah right.
Lloyds made all the right noises at first, then ignored my calls or left me on hold or said they would call back & didn't. Then when challenged said 'it might take a few days to get back to you'.
So that was them binned.
Tried several others, they had been to the same PR school as Lloyds, new customers! who needs them!
Barclays seem to be on the ball, no 'just a minute I will find out' over & over, but I will put you on hold for a minute then connect you'.
Done, got Alison, in UK, spoke English not British, had all the answers.
Community Account pack in the post she says, may be middle of next week, so no holding your breath back there, I won't but I will update when it arrives.
Well that was a shock, the pack from Barclays hit my mat Thursday, so it went out same day.
I'm back
Next Wednesday Aug 24th AWR are having a council of war to plan for the future.
David Glover thanks the newspaper for giving him the right of reply, a small part of democracy that the current duo at RAW deny their own members
The next councillors forum is due in just under a month, in their last newsletter that hit my mat last week the Cllrs. report internal management issues & serious disputes between various groups in the organisation. Well they are not blaming the expelled members this time
So be there at the Legion for the Cllrs. Forum 7PM 16th Sept.
RAW meeting Fri Aug 5th
Not too well attended but enough to count.
It was agreed to elect persons present to interim committee posts, details will be published in the AWR email newsletter3 due out soon, an email to dave@aowr.org.uk requesting one will get you a copy. Your email address will not be shown on the list, unlike another local association we do not give addresses away.
One RAW members present asked several direct questions to ensure the meeting was democratically run, the answers satisfied the questioner.
Watch this space for more or email dave to get involved
Expulsions were justified says David Glover
Those of you who were at the May RAW meeting may be wondering why Mr Glover has not been expelled due to his outrageous behaviour,
Yeah well think about it for a moment, who is in charge! of RAW Mr Glover or the members who elected him & are determined to see to his democratic downfall.
Mr Glover will be given the democratic rights he denies those who were expelled without the democratic right of reply.
Members have offered the triumvirate the chance to speak in their defence both directly & via the also elected representatives of Westborough, the standing councillors, RAW choose not to exercise their right of reply, hiding behind Latin phrases. Head will soon roll in the region & in this writers view the head of the councillor who may be standing for re-election next year.
Mr Glover says he was not contacted, well when the Echo asked for a statement according to Ryan the reporter the reply was in the lines of no comment.
I will repeat earlier comments regarding the 'triumvirate' it is not, there are only two, the treasurer resigned by email on 20th May 2011, I have seen but do not own a copy of that email.
Eventually the truth will out
In Westborough you are expelled from RAW for speaking out in opposition, in Syria you get shot, eventually both will be under the control of a democracy.
Meet at the Legion this Friday, be there or be stuck with the dictators for longer, restore democracy to RAW
OK, this Friday hopefully there will be a return to democracy within the Residents Association of Westborough,
There are threats of legal action, so far we do not know who the legal action is to be aimed at, watch this space
The current dictators at RAW are claiming they are a triumvirate, that is a gang of 3 BUT as one of them resigned, I have seen a copy of an email from the resignee, & as there has not been an election since the resignation, back in May, & the other committee members were either illegally relieved of their post [thats me], expelled from RAW or resigned there is not enough on the committee to run RAW according to the constitution.
Also one of the remaining two was according to one of the councillors the cause of the problem at the May meeting, that person has not been expelled for breach of the constitution, if that expulsion had constitutionally been carried out there would only be one.
This coming Friday an independent person will chair the meeting & certain items will be on the agenda, in no particular order as of now
-
A motion to relieve the gang of two from their positions for failing to act constitutionally.
-
A motion to elect interim committee members in order to re-establish democracy for the benefit of RAW members
-
AOB
The intention is for the interim committee if elected to run RAW until the scheduled AGM which according to the constitution is next January. Alternatively until a SGM is called by members to hold an election of officers sooner. RAW must return to democratic leadership
I hope to add the agenda in the next day or two.
All the statements I have made above, in fact anything I write on this blog can & will be if need be substantiated with corroborating documentation. Unless it is accompanied with 'in my opinion'.
I hope you have all seen the local papers with Lydia's letter
